The ease in visa procurement and introduction of various low-cost tour packages has made Bangkok the most popular overseas destinations in recent years for middle-class Nepalis. Bangkok has been one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations for decades, but now it is becoming accessible to increasing number of average Nepalis as well; unlike in the past when only the rich could afford such excursion. Currently, the packages are available between NRs 30,000 – NRs 1,00,000 and most people opt for the lower end of the price range. The NRs 30,000 package includes return air ticket, accommodation, half day city tour and visit to coral island and sea, and covers 3 nights and 4 days. However, most tour agents recommend the NRs 1,00,000 package as it provides visitors 7 complete days to enjoy all that the country has to offer. Nevertheless, people who have already made the trip are all praise for the country and are charmed by the people and culture of Thailand. |
